The 5,4,3,2,1's of Packing

I'm an awful packer. I like to think that in the last couple of years i've gotten better thanks to the amount of traveling that i've done but let's be honest, I still end up packing a ton of things that I never wear or even take out of my suitcase! You know that "pack your bag, then take 5 items out" rule? Yeah, I do that and STILL overpack.

After all of these years, I've finally found a system that works well for me. Here's what I do when I'm packing for 7 days away on a casual vacation:

5 Tops (Shirts, Blouses, Tank Tops)
4 Bottoms (Pants, Skirts, Shorts)
3 Dresses
2 Pairs of Socks
1 Pair of Shoes

This obviously doesn't include a swim suit if you're going somewhere tropical, or a jacket if you're going somewhere cold. But by following this 5,4,3,2,1 rule when i'm packing for a basic trip, i've been able to down size the bulk of my luggage to make space for the small misc. things that I need for specific destinations, while still having a ton of options! I hope this helps you!

P.S. Don't forget an appropriate amount of underwear, and have a great trip!
